Overview
Post happy design, there was a need to expand the Lines of business in the top navigation and also make the homepage more useful to the user.
Business Objective
To Increase the number of shoppers landing on the homepage and enable them to transact with us.
How are we solving it?
Earlier the Goibibo Home only had only a few tasks to engage the user. The goal is to create new entities on the home page to increase overall shoppers on the app. Starting with Top Nav to accommodate more line of business (LOB’s) and other new sections on the page like recent searches, offers, deals, go pass & more.
1. Top Nav
Earlier the top navigation could only show the top 4-5 LOB’s. Now we have expanded the section to accommodate more.
2. Recent Searches
Recent searches help users to go back to the search results without going through the search input again. This also helps us to nudge the user to convert. The previous recent search design was giving a CTR of 2.90%. The design has been improved to give better visibility and define the type of search.
3. New Secondary Navigation
Helps users discover our micro funnels like Couple friendly Hotels, get flight status, train status, access deal & more.
4. Offers & What’s New
Offers and what’s new help users discover what are the trending deals or new launches on the platform.
Impact
Overall the LOB Shoppers % from homepage has improved from 55% to 67%. The breakup of how each section contributed is shown below.
